Once a website is submitted, our team will check if it meets the requirements before being sent to the MWA rating system and Jury panel. Sites will be published once it is approved.

Submit your website here on SUBMIT SITE. Please ensure you abide to the Terms and Conditions stated on the website, as it is mandatory for verification purposes.

Submissions will be verified by the jury panel and MWA rating system. An email notification on your submission/website approval will then be sent to you.

This category is for individual websites. For example, portfolios, blogs or any websites that are built for their own usage & sharing.

commercial

Commercial

This category is for company or business websites. For example, any business that showcases its profile on a website for customers to refer to.

Ecommerce

This category is for business websites with an add-to-cart system and payment gateway.

Web Excellence Awards

The 30 highest-scoring sites in a year (10 highest-scoring sites per category) will be nominated for the Web Excellence Award. The MWA rating panel combines a robust rating system with a distinguished jury panel to ensure fairness, transparency, and integrity in the final results.

  • 30% rating by MWA rating system, and 70% by jury panel.
  • Judging criteria: Design, SEO, Accessibility & Performance.
  • The Web Excellence Awards will be divided into three categories: Personal, Commercial and Ecommerce.
  • The Web Excellence Award winners will be announced by March each year.

Site of The Year (SOTY) Awards

The 3 most outstanding websites which stood out over the year! All Web Excellence Awards winners are automatically nominated for Site of The Year (SOTY).

  • 30% rating by MWA rating system, and 70% by jury panel.
  • Judging criteria: Design, SEO, Accessibility & Performance.
  • 1 winner from each category: Personal, Commercial and Ecommerce, with a total of 3 winners.
  • The Site of The Year (SOTY) will be announced at the ceremony.

Design

  • More than just coming up with a pretty or trendy-looking website that catches attention, the ideal website design should be able to deliver quality visuals that are both appropriate and relevant to the web content and the intended visitors.
  • The website should have a clean, professional logo for branding that matches with the theme, concept, colours, and creative elements found within the website. Other deciding factors include layout, typography, images, and audio.

SEO

  • SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation, determines the ranking of a website in the search engine results. A website with a high SEO value is guaranteed online visibility and better traffic.
  • The content of the website, such as the page title, meta tags and the presence of indexation, must show an effective use of various SEO techniques that maximise search engine visibility.

Accessibility

  • A website is meant to be accessed; good accessibility makes a website more user-friendly, functional, and allows visitors to get the information they need quickly and easily, whenever and wherever they are.
  • The website must be compatible and easily accessible on all devices. The use of relevant accessibility-enhancing features and technologies such as URL rewriting should also be demonstrated to make user interaction with the website convenient, responsive, optimally interactive, and memorable.

Performance

  • Users tend to get frustrated when websites take too long to load. The website must not only be filled with impressive content and creative layout; the performance of the website, especially its loading speed, can make or break a good website.
  • The website must have an optimum download speed, reflecting a skillful utilisation of page caching, website compression, and other forms of loading optimisation without compromising on the quality of its content and layout.

Terms and Conditions

Rules

  1. Submission Period: 3 January to 31 December 2025; late submissions will not be considered.
  2. Submission Limit: Maximum of five (5) websites per participant/agency.
  3. Eligibility: Open to complete websites designed for the Malaysia market only (single web pages like social media pages are not accepted).
  4. Participation: Websites that have previously won Site of the Year award are not allowed to be submitted again.
  5. Language Requirement: Websites must be in English, Malay, or Chinese.

Additional Information

  1. Publication: Submissions will only be published on the website after the initial evaluation is complete.
  2. Nomination Requirement: Websites that score below 50 marks will not be nominated for the awards.
  3. Award Discretion: Final selected Top Website Excellence Awards and Site of the Year Award are fully on the discretion of the organiser.
  4. Awards Ribbon & Badge Usage: Only winners can use the awards ribbon/badge on their websites.
  5. Licensing: Participants grant Exabytes permission to use, host, and promote their submitted content worldwide.
  6. Final Results: Exabytes reserves the right to amend or update ratings before official results are announced.
  7. Entry Termination: Exabytes may disqualify entries that violate the terms and conditions.
  8. Information Accuracy: All provided details must be legitimate, which Exabytes has the right to collect for evaluation and promotional activities.
  9. Number of Winners: The number of winners will be adjusted based on the number of qualifying websites.
